A VOICE FOR OUR COMMUNITY 

Robert Marin is a lifelong Fairfield resident with deep roots in the community he proudly calls home. Robert and his wife, Barbara, are high school sweethearts who both grew up in Fairfield. Together they built their lives here, raising their two daughters and now enjoying time with their two grandchildren.

Service to the community runs in Robert’s family. Both of their fathers served for many years in the United States Air Force and retired at Travis Air Force Base. That example of service helped shape Robert’s lifelong commitment to giving back.

​

Robert attended local schools before continuing his education at Solano Community College and Sacramento State University. While in college, he began his military service in the United States Naval Reserves, where he served for eight years.

​

After college, Robert worked as an Operations Manager for Roadway Packaging Systems before being  called to a career in public safety. He began in law enforcement as a Correctional Officer with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office and later served as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Concord. Robert then dedicated more than 20 years as a Police Officer with the Fairfield Police Department, serving and protecting the community he grew up in.

Even after retiring from law enforcement in 2015, Robert continued to stay deeply involved in the community. He served as Head Coach of a local high school aquatics program for four and a half years, mentoring young athletes, and spent more than eight years on the Fairfield Police Activities League (PAL) Board, helping provide positive opportunities for local youth.

​

In 2018, Robert launched his own consulting and teaching business focused on accident reconstruction and roadway safety, working with law enforcement agencies and private organizations to improve safety and training.

​

As a retired police officer and longtime Fairfield resident, Robert remains committed to advocating for the people of this community. He brings decades of public safety experience, strong leadership, and practical problem-solving skills. Robert believes in improving transparency and responsiveness in city government while strengthening Fairfield’s economic vitality.

He is ready to continue serving the community he loves and to be a strong voice for Fairfield residents on the City Council.
